I'm not saying they don't need some financial assistance (though whether government assistance is the best kind is a question which should always be asked) but that drought payments are going to people who are currently dealing with floods should tell us a few things. Not least is that things change and that shit happens, but also that Nature isn't called a mother for no reason at all.

When handing out YOUR money there is no such thing as a drought, it would appear.

Round here they will happily enforce a hosepipe ban after it's been pissing down for months.
We don't get a handout though. In fact, we still have to pay for the water we can't use.

There was a hosepipe ban on where we live in the UK when we left. Wouldn't surprise me if it's still on despite that barbecue summer.
