Australia's Carbon Taxed National Anthem

SING!

Australians all let us revolt,

For we are carbon free;

We’ve iron ore and coal and more,

But live in poverty.
Our land abounds in Nature’s gifts,

To use we do not dare;

In history’s page, we’re now stone age

What chance Australia fair?

In worried strains then let us ask,

What chance Australia fair?

H/T to the Real World Libertarian.

You wouldn't want to hear me sing. The cats left home last time I tried.

The key is to have lots of people to drown you out.

Hmmm, "In history’s page, we’re now stone age". I saw recently (on wikipedia) that we have the highest GDP per capita of the G20. Maybe they insisted on the carbon tax to cut us down to size.
I'd guess that the high GDP/capita is because we got away relatively unscathed from the GFC. I don't know that other countries would have insisted on it to restore the status quo but I think it's telling that those who've been talking about what a great idea it is are now happy to let us go first.

And while you're making up witty ditties and using big legal companies to make faux advertisements decrying the carbon trading ponzi scheme, guess what?
You're government is going right ahead and implementing the scheme.
I'm trying to recall the song or advert that brought down a government, um, um, um nope.

I didn't make it up, but the point's taken. Unfortunately I have no idea what we do about it since I suspect a majority, though perhaps not a large majority, of Australians are in favour of the bloody thing.
