Stony Stratford

Hope it went well, though a shame about the weather, and looking forward to reading the reports later today. Probably on the usual blogs since it's been a couple of weeks leading up to it and four and a half hours since 11am, and still the fucking MSM don't seem to have bothered reporting it.

Bastards!

I thought BBC was to have reported it?

When I checked around 1am here, which is about 3pm there, I put "Stony Stratford" into the Beeb's search and the most recent thing I got was a report on Baccy Gauleiter Bartlett's original proposal. I went to bed after that.
Here is a link to the BBC story online.

BBC doesn't go into as much detail as the blogsites do. They end on a strange note, which to me sounds like they are proposing the method council would need to go about making Bartlett's ASH endorsed outdoor smoking ban law, how to enact and then enforce it - as if BBC is encouraging an outdoor smoking ban.

BBC says:

"If Stony Stratford Town Council votes in favour of the scheme at Tuesday's meeting it would have to ask Milton Keynes Council to use its powers to introduce the necessary by-law.

If implemented, the ban would be enforced by police community support officers."

That doesn't sound to me like the BBC was very much on the side of the people asking for their freedom but on the side of the council and bullies. It still sounds like biased reporting. But at least it made it into the news.

Hmm, could be read either way. I doubt Bartlett is unaware of the procedure so it could just be explaining what will happen next if the vote goes his way. I think we can guess whose side the Beeb is on but to be fair to them that's not the biased bit of reporting they've ever done.
