UP to 30 “high-risk” terrorists — including some of the most dangerous men in Britain — are due to be released from jail in the next year.Maybe they're right and maybe they're not, but since when does the fucking judiciary get to decide it? That looks an awful lot like a matter for the government overseen by Parliament, and while they may well mostly be venal, self absorbed, nest feathering arseholes they do at least theoretically represent the will of the country. If judges feel strongly about it shouldn't they stand for election themselves?
More are being freed in the wake of a ruling by Britain’s most senior judges that long sentences for terrorist crimes could “inflame” rather than deter extremism.

Remind me again...
... who makes policy decisions in the UK? I didn't think it was supposed to be judges, but perhaps I'm wrong.
